Sossusvlei lies in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, 306km southwest of Windhoek the capital city, in eastern Namibia. It is recognised for its awe-inspiring pink, red and orange coloured sand dunes, said to be some of the world’s largest. One of Sossusvlei’s most well-liked attractions is the ‘Big Daddy’ sand dunes, which rises to a height of 308 metres, and is said to offer unmatched sunrise and sunset viewing in the world’s oldest Desert. Sossusvlei lodges are mainly in the 4-star range.
