My business partner and I recently stayed at the Siam Bayshore for 3 nights. The resort itself is very lovely and the level of service ranged from exceptional to abhorrent which is why I gave the service level a 3. Service from the restaurant staff in the various restaurants was exceptional. They were very gracious and represented themselves with a great deal of professionalism and courtesy. The maintenance staff also provided prompt and efficient service when I accidently blew a breaker in our room by using my hair dryer in an outlet outside of the bathroom. When we were making our way from our room to check out on our final day, one of the service staff saw that we were taking our own luggage and they promptly provided assistance. Our luggage was conveniently waiting for us when we checked out after breakfast. The abhorrent level of service came when we requested an extra night be added on to our stay at the same rate as our previous night. This would have been for a Sunday night stay in the middle of the rainy season. Initially the night desk clerk said yes, however when I asked for confirmation of the same rate he instead nearly doubled it. I declined the rate and determined that we would make other arrangements to stay at the same hotel as our friends which was nearby. There was a flood at the front gates that same night and so I also inquired if there would be a problem getting a taxi in the morning at 8:00am. He assured that there would be no problem. When I came down for breakfast at 7:00am and inquired about ordering a taxi for 8:00am he told me to order one once I was done breakfast. When I finished breakfast I again put in a request for a taxi and he continued to chat with one of his buddies for a nearly 10 minutes before I heard him call for a taxi. Shortly afterwards we saw a baht bus (pick-up truck with seats in the back) arrive and eventually the driver came in to see if we needed a ride to the destination that we had requested. Considering that we were dressed in heels and business suits, riding in the back of a pick-up truck was not what we had bargained for, so we kindly sent the man on his way and again requested a taxi from the same man at the front desk. This time he told me flat out that he did not have a number for a taxi service, that the baht bus that had just left was all I could expect. I said that other people at the hotel had already ordered me taxi service prior, and he said that he didn’t have a number and would not order another for me. This forced my friend and I to venture out into Walking Street to hail a baht bus on our own to get to our business meetings. This night clerk obviously receives some sort of kick back from room rates and taxi's and when he doesn't get it, the customer doesn't receive service. He was the only person that demonstrated this poor service and it’s likely that he was a manager there as the other people seemed to defer to him. He was the single exception, everyone else was very wonderful, but when corrupt people like that are in senior positions it is unfortunate for everyone else. Our room was mostly clean, but rather dated. There were rust stains on the bathtub and one of the bathrobes had what appeared to be a mouse dropping on the back of it. The beds were comfortable and there were no bugs in our room, so for that I was grateful. Another plus was the supper buffet that we enjoyed out on the beach - very, very nice.

Hi, While the overall stay was great, there are a couple of things which would have made it even more special. Chief among them is the lack of wifi access in rooms. While there is a wired internet, it requires use of a laptop or a portable router to connect to the internet. If possible please increase the number of electric points. The one in our room (next to the minibar) would switch off once we switched off the lights at night. Having said that, things that we liked, in no particular order are, the property itself; it rained during our stay and it just made the landscaping stand out. The breakfast, the view from the balcony, the service and room cleanliness were the other factors that made the hotel stay excellent.

Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa is nestled on the quite southern tip of Pattaya bay, yet is just a short walk from the centre of town and within reasonable distance of the airport and ferry terminal.
