I stayed here in May last year and had problems with being charged for items from the mini-bar that had been consumed by the cleaning staff. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt by staying here again for 8 nights in Feb 2008. The main reason for choosing this hotel again was because it is close to my favourite watering hole. After a long 8-hour bus trip from Hat Yai, I was ready for a hot shower after check-in. Needless to say, I was not impressed when there was no hot water; the (cold) water in the shower alcove flooded the floor in a few minutes and also flooded the bathroom floor along with other black sewage coming up through the drain. After pointing out the shortcomings of the drainage system at Reception, I was reluctantly shown to another room where at least there was hot water, but the poor drainage continued to be a problem. The hotel staff were friendly enough, but the room service left a lot to be desired. There was never any attempt to clean up the bathroom. Used bars of soap or empty shampoo bottles were not removed for the duration of my stay and used drinking glasses were rarely replaced. This hotel is starting to show its age. The bathroom towels supplied must be as old as the hotel itself.

A good location for some peace and quiet, away from Bangla Rd. Staff were friendly and helpful, although not impressed when, on checking out, I was charged for items from the mini-bar I had not used. I make a point of never using Anything from hotel mini-bars, as it avoids a lot of hassles at check-out time.
